Vineland Man Pleads Guilty in Atlantic City Shooting That Injured 2 in ’22
A Cumberland County man is likely facing several years in prison in connection with a shooting in Atlantic City more than four years ago.
This past Monday, 32-year-old Ricardo Ferrera of Vineland pleaded guilty to charges of second-degree aggravated assault and fourth-degree aggravated assault by pointing a firearm.
In February 2022, officials said the Atlantic City Police Department responded to a ShotSpotter notification of seven gunshots. At the scene, officers learned that two people had been injured by gunfire.
An investigation determined that Ferrera fired shots and fled the scene. He was later apprehended by ACPD officers.
In exchange for the guilty plea, Ferrera is facing five years in state prison when sentenced on April 20th.
Assistant Prosecutor Erin Rush represented the State in these matters.
