If this story along says anything, it is that we cannot act like this pandemic is over.

Long Beach Island hotspot, The Chicken or the Egg has been open for takeout during the pandemic.

However, they just announced that they will be temporarily closing because a person who entered the establishment tested positive for COVID-19.

The restaurant left a voicemail message on the restaurant's phone line for all customers that shared the overly-honest truth. (Which we appreciate, by the way)

They are going to have all of their staff tested for the coronavirus and the restaurant is going to be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized before they reopen to the public.

"We realize these actions may seem extreme, but there is nothing more important to us than the safety of our customers and staff," said the voicemail.

Owner Marc Cohen is hoping that The Chicken or the Egg (often referred to as CHEGG by locals) will be able to reopen on Monday.

I am glad that this business is putting the safety of their customers and staff first.

And because they acted fast, you won't have to wait long to have some their amazingly delicious and famous chicken wings.

For additional updates on the status of CHEGG, keep an eye out on their social media pages and their website.
