One Person Extracted from Vehicle Following Crash in Woodbine

Authorities in Cape May County say one person had to be extracted from a vehicle following a crash Thursday evening in Woodbine.

According to a post on the Dennis Volunteer Fire Company's Facebook page, they, along with members of the Woodbine Fire Department, were dispatched to a crash with possible entrapment on County Route 610 near Mouse Trap Lanes around 6:15 Thursday night.

Their report says,

Units arrived on location to find one occupant heavily entrapped in a vehicle. Squad 18, Rescue 18, and Utility 18 responded to the scene and assisted Station 16 with patient extrication. Due to the severity of the entrapment, Ocean View Volunteer Fire Co. was also requested.

Firefighters say they worked for about a half hour to free the trapped person who was then taken to Woodbine Municipal Airport where they were flown to an area hospital.

The condition of the extract person, or his or her identity, was not included in the fire company's Facebook post.

The incident remains under investigation by troopers at the Woodbine barracks of the New Jersey State Police. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact police by calling (609) 861-5698 or through their website.
