As I'm sure you've discussed amongst your friends or family at the dinner table, Taylor Swift's newest song called, "Look What You Make Me Do" is already #1 after being released on Friday.

Before it's big release, word spread that the new song could allegedly be on the "country" spectrum. In which case, the record company pre-sold the song to all these country radio stations in the hopes that it would get some air-play.

However, once it was released, it was quite apparent that the pop-artist created another song that is FAR from the country genre, and in fact articulates that the
"Old [country] Taylor Swift is dead"

SO--here comes the rant:

This weekend as I was traveling to visit a friend, I'm listening to the local country station in Connecticut when all of a sudden...I hear this AWFUL song.

  1. Yes, I said it's awful. Majority of the world can agree.
  2. WHY,  local country station--why in the world would you tarnish your station's brand with this God-awful, "bitch-and-moan" about how Taylor Swift is blaming the world for her wrongdoings.

My boyfriend had to stop me from calling this so called "country" station and letting them know that as a fellow Country DJ, I'm so beyond disappointed in their music judgment.

FACT:
Country music is not just good, it's GREAT. And to put amazing country songs amongst such TRASH is demoralizing to our amazing Country artists.

SO--I'm mad.

And what makes me even MORE mad, is that Taylor debuted her music video to "Look What You Made Me Do" during the VMA's last night...and it was SO good.

I'M SO MAD THAT THE MUSIC VIDEO IS SO GOOD BECAUSE THE SONG SUCKS AND SHE'S NOT ALL THAT AND A BAG OF CHIPS EITHER.

Q: Rachel--why do you dislike Taylor Swift so much?

A: I liked the old Taylor. The nice, country Taylor that had tear drops on her guitar. I don't like what the new stands for. She has no self respect, too much drama,  she has created this "squad" that excludes others, the amount of break-up's that she has written songs about makes me sick, and she's just annoying.

Therefore, dear Taylor,
I don't blame you for this "country station"'s ignorance as to what good country music is.  I don't blame you, because I don't feel the need to blame others for wrongdoings that we ourselves have the ability to control (aka--look what you made yourself do)

Taylor--Get a grip. And watch me dig up the old T-Swift because I like her better.

Sincerely,
Rachel and her rant.
