It's a secret to no one that the opioid epidemic in South Jersey is probably the worst it's ever been.

Addiction touches each and every one of us at one point in some way or another. Whether you yourself are struggling or you have a friend or loved one battling to overcome their addiction, it's such an awful and stressful situation to deal with. According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, from 2016-2017 alone, the rate of deaths due to overdose in New Jersey increased by over 29%.

Today, it's National Free Naloxone Distribution Day so, 6ABC.com reports, multiple pharmacies all over the state of New Jersey are distributing the opioid overdose-reversing drug Naloxone (Narcan® ) for free. Obviously, they only have a limited supply, so distribution is based on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you're interested in arming yourself with what could potentially save a life, NJ.gov has released a complete list of all the pharmacies participating. The list is organized by county. Check out the full list HERE.
