Tim McGraw is putting the finishing touches on a new album, and the singer says that his upcoming project will offer perspective on a wide range of life experiences. "This project is really a tapestry of life, and I can't wait for everybody to hear it," he told Taste of Country at Hometown Rising 2019.

"In 2020, when it drops, [the album is gonna] give you a good perspective on life," the singer continues. While many country A-Listers (such as Blake Shelton) have recently indicated that they plan to spend some time away from the album format, focusing instead on singles and one-off songs, McGraw says he never seriously concerned not making a full-length project.

"For me, an album tells a story, and I've always tried to do that with all my records," he elaborates. "And the way that I developed musically, and the way I learned to listen to music, was through albums....So I like the process of an album, and I like what an album does, and how an album allows you to settle into an artist and listen to their story."

His new project, McGraw goes on to say includes a diverse batch of moments that will resonate with listeners in all seasons of life. "There are so many different stories, There's some beginning of love, there's some youth, there's, sort of, passing through life as you go, and there's some reflectiveness involved as well," he relates.

McGraw isn't just singing about major life milestones: He recently lived one, when he helped his 22-year-old daughter, Gracie, leave home to move to Los Angeles.
