Two Arrested, Gun Recovered Following Beach Pursuit in Atlantic City
Two people from Pennsylvania have been arrested following a dispute and foot pursuit where a loaded gun was recovered.
The ACPD reports officers responded to the 500 block of the Boardwalk Monday evening for a report of a man pushing a woman. Surveillance Center personnel were able to quickly locate the couple and directed the officers to their location.
According to a report, as the officers approached the couple, 31-year-old Tavon Robertson of Lancaster, PA, refused to talk to officers and he ran from the scene. The officers chased Robertson, who ran on to the beach and then reportedly threw a loaded handgun from his waistband. As one of the officers was approaching Robertson, the woman, 27-year-old Martha Fisher, also of Lancaster, grabbed on to the officer's arm in an attempt to interfere in Robertson’s arrest. Both were eventually apprehended and arrested.
Robertson was charged with obstruction of justice, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of hollow-point ammunition, receiving stolen property, and tampering with evidence. He was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
Fisher was charged with obstruction of justice and released on a summons with a future court date.
