Atlantic City Police say a vehicle stop led to the arrest of two city men and the recovery of drugs and paraphernalia early Tuesday morning.

Authorities say two ACPD officers stopped a vehicle at Ohio and Morningside Avenues. One officer began to speak with the driver, who identified himself as Warren Hayes. Hayes was unable to provide the officer with ID; he was asked to step out of the vehicle at which time the officer observed marijuana on the floor, according to a press release. Hayes and his passenger, 29-year-old James Sanders, Jr., of Atlantic City, were arrested. The cops recovered the marijuana and also found 67 grams of cocaine and assorted drug paraphernalia.

At the Public Safety Building, Hayes was found in possession of a bag of marijuana and his real name was found to be Michael Hayes.

47-year-old Michael Hayes of Atlantic City and Sanders, Jr., were both charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), possession of CDS with intent to distribute, and possession of CDS paraphernalia. Hayes was also charged with hindering apprehension and a motor vehicle summons. Both were released on a summons with a future court date.
