A.C. Cops Arrest Two After Gun Found Inside a Vehicle

A man and a woman were arrested after Atlantic City Police say a loaded handgun was found inside their vehicle.

According to a press release, a detective with the Atlantic City Police Department conducted a motor vehicle stop in the 800 block of Virginia Avenue around 3:00 Wednesday afternoon During the stop, the driver, 29-year-old Rashaad Mustafa of Atlantic City, was found to have a suspended drivers license. Mustafa and his passenger, 20-year-old Jasmine Smith of Pleasantville, were arrested after detectives located a loaded gun in their vehicle.

Mustafa was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, certain person not to possess a weapon, possession of a high-capacity magazine, and traffic summons; he was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility. Smith was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a high-capacity magazine; she was released on a summons with a future court date.
