Last week I wrote a story that - in my opinion - certain graduations, such as pre-school and eight grade graduations, were a waste of time, money, and energy.

While many agreed, several people disagreed - and let me know it. Thank you, because this is a part of what makes America great: we can agree to disagree.

I have come across a kindergarten graduation that did make sense, though not for the traditional reasons.

A young Phoenix girl lost her police-officer-father last week. At her graduation, his brothers and sisters in law enforcement stood in for him.

Very touching.
