How can a community help its police department? By telling officers what's going on and what the problems are. Residents of Atlantic City did just that and a big difference was made along Pacific Avenue.

According to a press release from the Atlantic City Police Department, officers responded to quality of life issues along Pacific Avenue and during the week of July 23rd 55 people were arrested. Those arrested were charged with various narcotic related offenses, prostitution, active warrants, and other crimes. 133 ordinance violations were also issued for open containers, drinking in public, and urinating in public.

The arrests led to over 650 bags of heroin, 200 bags of cocaine, an ounce of unpackaged cocaine, three ounces of marijuana, and an assortment of prescription pills being taken off the streets in addition to over $10,000 being seized.
