Disabled Vets & Purple Heart Recipients Don’t Pay Parking Meters in NJ
The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission has announced disabled veterans and Purple Heart recipients don't have to pay parking meters anymore.
MVC made the announcement on Thursday making them exempt from ever putting a quarter into the meter ever again. All they have to do is acquire a placard to place on their dashboard.
FYI, these placards have to be renewed every 3 years and must be placed in cars belonging to disabled veterans and Purple Heart recipients (or have them as a passenger).
I think this is great way to thank our veterans for their service! If you or someone you know is a veteran please spread the word! You can get a placard by visiting the MVC website, or call 609-292-6500.
