South Jersey Veterans Can Get a Free Trained Support Dog

Here's a way for South Jersey heroes can link up with man's best friend!

A South Jersey-based program is offering dogs for New Jersey military veterans who have been diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress.

The dogs are free to veterans, with free training also provided.

These K9s are often rescue dogs facing euthanasia, so it's definitely a win-win for all involved!

The program is called NJ Dogs of Honor, and it's a non-profit organization. A spokesman for the group, Stephanie Loder, says, "The organization struggled to raise funding last year due to COVID19. However, this year, they've managed to raise needed funds for dogs and to get them trained. But, they can't find any veterans in NJ to come get trained!"

NJ Dogs of Honor is located in Heislerville, in Cumberland County. Any veteran who gets a dog would just have to be able to go to  Millville for training - then they can take their new friend home!

Any veteran in New Jersey with a DD214 can apply for the program. Again, there are dogs available now, so now is the time!
