Look, I'm been talking on the radio for over 35 years. When I first started, people would meet me and say, "Wow! You're so much younger than I pictured you!"

People don't say that anymore. "Young" is not really an adjective used by anyone to describe me anymore.

I'm not alone.

Or, maybe I am!

As it's election season, I'm being served sponsored political ads on Facebook these days, touting this candidate or that one.

One such ad caught my attention yesterday. It was from "Flynn for EHT Committee." It's an account for Nadine Flynn, who's running for Egg Harbor Township Committee. The ad was something about open sewage on some EHT street and how she will work to prevent this from happening in the future.

Frankly, it's not my street, so my caring level is kind of low. (Maybe this is why I'm not running for public office...LOL.)

Anyhow, what did get my attention from her ad was the fact that it contained this: @YoungDemocratAC. Not a hashtag mind you, but I thought, maybe it's supposed to be a hashtag.

That got me thinking: is Candidate Flynn calling herself a Young Democrat? I mean no offense, but based on the accompanying photo, Candidate Flynn doesn't exactly look "young." (For the record, the photo above of yours truly doesn't look "young" either!)

So, after thinking about this, I posted a question to Candidate Flynn:

I will give Candidate Flynn credit. She did answer me:

While she did answer me, I guess I didn't really get the answer that I wanted - and, it's probably because I didn't ask the right question. I should have said, "How old are you and are you calling yourself a "Young Democrat"?

I did some research this morning, with the help of a resourceful friend, and found out that she's 63 years old.

In reality, I guess, none of that matters. If she IS calling herself a "Young Democrat", good for her! (Maybe I can start calling myself a "Young Radio Personality.")

I don't know Candidate Flynn, and this is by no means an endorsement for her or against her. I'm pretty sure she's a nice person, and it is very admirable for anyone who cares about their community to be involved in politics.

This also was by no means an attempt to poke fun at Candidate Flynn, but really just an attempt to lighten up the whole political landscape. (Can't we all just get along?)

For the record, I do live in Egg Harbor Township, and it is a great place to live, thanks to people like Candidate Flynn and others who care.

Please remember to vote. Early and often.
