Is This the Most Ridiculous Beauty Product Ever?
Every so often we are greeted by an outrageous beauty product that promises major results for minimal effort. Many of these products are hogwash.
Welcome the Nexsey. The packaging of this product refers to it as "the beauty of illusion."
I don't think me explaining this product will do it justice, but I will give it my best.
It is tape that you use to pull the excess skin on your neck back. It reminds me very much of kinesio tape which is used for pain and injuries, but this is for pure vanity.
My one sentence description isn't enough so here is a video demonstrating what is does:

Yes, you can tape your neck skin to make yourself look younger...
I would also like to note that in the before and after photo of this woman that the lighting is DRASTICALLY different.
Even her boobs look different from the lighting.
According to their site, "Nexsey is a patent pending medical grade tape designed for use as a temporary way to tighten the wrinkles on the neck." They also let you know that, "As with many new beauty tools there is an application and learning curve that may take some time to perfect, but once you do it should get faster and easier!"
Phew what a relief! If it doesn't work it is most likely user error.
The packaging is pretty no nonsense and the before and after photos are pretty stunning.
Unfortunately, the website doesn't have any reviews so I turned to Amazon to get the tea.
Overall with 17 reviews it has an average of 3.3 stars out of 5.
One Amazon buyer said, "This is the most awesome product ever you will be amazed how [much] younger you look it works to hide double chin and sagging neck it takes practice to get it right so [don't] give up once you use it and get it right you will love it I am going to keep buying it because I love how it makes me look greatest product ever."
However another wrote, "...This product was not anything special. For far less cost, I bought a roll of surgical or "sports tape" that is used in athletics. This was in stock at a drug store that sells medical products and also offers compounding of certain medications, open to the public in my town. This tape was far superior and worked quite well. I applied it in the same way as the Nexsey demonstration, on the back base of the neck. The surgical tape was much stronger and less expensive than Nexsey. I planned on just using it on the night of the party. But, I experimented with it, and ended up using it routinely Surgical/Athletic tape was excellent. I haven't used it in humid weather. Neck skin needs to be clean, dry and free from any lotions, hair products or perspiration. Best to practice using it before a big event!"
