Is there anything better than a real New Jersey bagel? I'm not going to lie, if I had to choose between a freshly-made donut or a hot out-of-the-oven Jersey bagel, I'm taking the bagel ten times out of ten.

Usually, if you want a real, authentic New Jersey bagel, you have to get it somewhere in Jersey, which makes sense. But there's a popular bagel shop in Jersey that's getting ready to franchise out and open 250 locations throughout the Garden State, as well as Pennsylvania.

The bagel shop in question has a history in Jersey; they've been making bagels and amazing breakfast sandwiches in Jersey for the better part of 35 years, so they know what they're doing.

The first store opened back in 1989, with just one store, and today, in 2026, they operate ten locations throughout New Jersey, from Jackson to Plainfield and every in between.

According to NJ Biz, the Bagal Bazaar is now looking to grow to operating over 50 stores by 2030, and just ten years later, in 2041, they're hoping to operate upwards of 250 stores, and not just in Jersey.

CEO Paul Salas says that he wants to operate stores in Pennsylvania, too, as well as other markets in the future.

And why not? How often have you gone to Philly, or Scranton, or a place in PA, and quickly found out you can't get a good bagel? Having a real Jersey bagel shop open up in PA and other states would be awesome!
