Egg Harbor Township, NJ — One Car, Two Drunk Drivers Charged

You don’t see this one every day. In Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey — Two alleged drunk drivers were charged (with multiple offenses) while driving the same car — at different times.

The Egg Harbor Township Police Department Has Released The Following Information

On Friday, August 7, 2026 at approximately 9:48 pm the Egg Harbor Township Police Department responded to the area of the Black Horse Pike and English Creek Avenue for a report of a vehicle driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of traffic on the Black Horse Pike. Officer Randy Collins located the accused vehicle pull into the parking lot of Tomar's Liquor Store and observed the two front occupants switch positions. The driver moved to the passenger seat and the passenger moved to the driver seat, said the Egg Harbor Township Police Department.

This Is A Bizarre Finding

The Egg Harbor Township Police Department investigation has yielded an unusual finding:

Both of the drivers were allegedly drunk and both drove the same car at different times.

Who Are These Two Alleged Drunk Drivers?

Destiny Munyon, 20 years old from Egg Harbor Township along with
Shelby Barnes, 20 years old, from Egg Harbor Township.

The Charges Filed

Munyon was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Refusal to Submit to Breath Testing, Open Containers in a Motor Vehicle, along with several other traffic offenses.

Barnes was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Reckless Driving and Careless Driving.

Pursuant to New Jersey State law, both suspects were released to sober adults in accordance with John's Law.
