Hug your littles a little tighter after they get home from school today.

School children have been reported injured as a result of a school bus accident that occurred in South Harrison Township, Gloucester County yesterday.

NBC10 reveals that a total of fourteen students were transported to surrounding hospitals and medical centers including Inspira Hospital in Woodbury after their school bus collided with a tractor trailer.

Reportedly, the truck driver's last minute decision to not slam on his breaks saved lives. Instead of hitting the breaks, the driver decided to run off the road and into the trees. While the vehicles both hit each other, the truck driver's choice resulted in the avoidance of a head-on collision.

As a result, none of the injuries reported are life threatening.
