Murder in Mays Landing

A Mays Landing woman in dead, after being shot in her own home Wednesday night.

Debra J. Mason, 52,  was found dead in her home shortly before 10pm Wednesday Night. Emergency personnel found Mason dead, as a result of a gunshot wound to her chest.

According to Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain, Joseph Morrison, 62, has been charged with murder. Morrison and Mason shared the home in the 6000 block of Sears Avenue. Morrison was at the home when emergency responders arrived on the scene.

Morrison is being held in the Atlantic County Jail in lieu of $1millon full cash bail.
