The New Jersey Casino Reinvestment Development Authority recently announced that Atlantic City would host a New Years Eve Party, portions of which would be broadcast on ABC's Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest.  Turns out that is not happening.

CRDA told NJ.com,

"Scheduling conflicts" and unspecified "other considerations" are to blame, according to a report on Philly.com.

After two Labor Day concerts were cancelled due to weather (including Florida Georgia Line) CRDA decided to work on New Years Eve.  Now that those plans have fallen through, CRDA says they are planning for more concerts in 2017.
