Here's an interesting factoid: one in every eleven people checking items off of their shopping lists this holiday season will shoplift. But what's most commonly shoplifted might surprise you.

According to a recent article in AdWeek, one type of food ranks #1 in the list of top ten most shoplifted items (one might not think of a supermarket as a hot-bed of shoplifting activity, but with the stagnant economy, "need-based" shoplifting is on the rise).

#1. "Luxury meat" -- a.k.a. filet mignon. Grade-A cuts of meats are a big target for shoplifters.

#2. Liquor -- why? It's liquor.

#3. Electric tools -- and not just power tools. One of the most-stolen power tools is an electric toothbrush.

#4. iPhone4 -- apparently, even shoplifters need to be cool. Wonder if there's 4G in jail?

#5. Gillette Mach 4 razors -- you know the ones that cost over $20 for the replacement blades?

#6. Axe Deodorants and Body Sprays -- those catchy TV commercials make for easy resale at flea markets. And at least you'll smell good in jail.

#7. Polo Ralph Lauren clothing -- designer apparel has always caught the eye of shoplifters and Polo Ralph Lauren is at the top of the list.

#8. Let's Rock Elmo -- one way or another, it's the hot toy of the year.

#9. Chanel No. 5 -- expensive fragrances are small in size (a.k.a. easy to disappear from a store), expensive, trendy, and easy to resell.

#10. Nike shoes -- it's easy to try-on a pair of shoes and walk out the door with them on.
