Sam Hunt might be one of country music's most mysterious hitmakers, at least when it comes to new material.

After earning a few cuts by superstars (Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban and others) as a songwriter, Hunt dropped his own debut album, Montevallo, in 2014 — and, boom. His blend of country, hip-hop and pop blew up, making Hunt one of country music's hottest stars, and fast.

High-profile tours with Luke Bryan, Lady Antebellum and more followed, as did festival headliner spots, like the one he'll play at Country Jam Colorado 2019 in mid-June. But as far as new music goes — well, Hunt's been pretty quiet. You'd be forgiven for not realizing it given how big of a smash "Body Like a Back Road" was in 2017. Hunt's been vocal about how hard writing on the road is for him — and how winning back his on-again, off-again girlfriend (now his wife) Hannah Lee Fowler took priority for a bit. He also says that he's going to spend this summer recording his sophomore album — that's why his tour calendar is so light — and that he'll be back to a more-intense road schedule in 2020.

You know his songs. You know his love story. But what don't you know about Sam Hunt? Read on for 10 facts that fit the bill.
