Authorities say a second man has now been charged in connection with the June, 2020, homicide of a Pine Hill, Camden County, man who had been reported missing.

Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill Mayer and Camden County Metro Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez say 29-year-old Rashaan Setzer of Camden has been charged with one count of first-degree felony murder in the homicide of 30-year-old Pedro Fernandez, Jr.

Cops say Setzer was arrested Friday morning by the U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Fugitive Task Force at a home on the 100 block of Burrough Mill Court in Cherry Hill.

According to prosecutors, on June 27, 2020, police responded to a report of a possible kidnapping on the 1500 block of Pershing St. in Camden. Witnesses said they saw Fernandez being forced into a black pick-up truck.

About two hours later, cops conducted a motor vehicle stop of a truck matching the description of that vehicle and they identified Rashaan Setzer as the driver.

That afternoon, detectives located Fernandez’s body in an alley in Camden. He had been shot multiple times.

On Monday, June 29, 2020, 33-year-old Michael Branon of Camden was charged with one count of first-degree felony murder. He continues to be held in the Camden County Jail awaiting trial.

Through further investigation, authorities were able to determine that Setzer was also responsible for the kidnapping and murder of Fernandez.

He is currently being detained at the Camden County Jail and is awaiting a pretrial detention hearing.

All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
