Toms River Couple Lose $1900 In Phone Scam
A Toms River senior couple is out $1900, after they fell victim to a telephone scam.
Chief Mike Mastronardy says the 72-year-old man received a call Saturday stating that his grandson had been arrested in Canada and he needed to wire them money. Shortly after, they made contact with the grandson who was fine.
An investigation has been launched.
