11 Fire & EMS Companies Respond to Flames of Woodbine House Fire
South Jersey firefighters from eleven different fire and EMS companies responded Saturday morning to an active house fire in a large Woodbine house.
At 9:38 am, Sat. Oct. 23, the Woodbine Fire Company requested assistance to help fight a structure fire at a home in the 700 block of Franklin Street.
Woodbine Fire Company reported finding flames shooting out of the top floor of the 3-story home.
According to fire company reports, the first arriving Woodbine Engine stretched a line to the third floor and with the assistance of a crew from Belleplain were able to knock down the fire quickly.
Arriving crews from Ocean View and Dennis performed a primary search of all floors, assisted with ventilation and overhaul. A second water supply was also established. Marmora Tower Truck 1550 was set up on Franklin Ave and overhauled the remaining hot spots.
All occupants of the home were able to get out but there were some minor injuries sustained and those people were transported for evaluation by Belleplain Ems.
Other agencies on the scene included Ocean View Fire, Dennis Twp Fire, Belleplain Fire, Marmora Fire, Goshen Fire, Stone Harbor Fire, Belleplain EMS, Sea Isle EMS, Upper EMS, Inspira EMS, NJ State Police, and Cape May County Fire Marshal’s Office and the NJ State Fire Marshall's office.
The Cape May Court House Fire Company provided coverage to Ocean View Fire Company and Dennis Township Fire Company during the incident.
