An Egg Harbor Township man is under arrest after injuring a mother and her 16-month-old son, then threatening police with a machete.

Police in EHT say they were called out to a domestic incident Wednesday evening at the Stoney Fields Mobile Home Park on Ocean Heights Avenue.

Officers arriving at the scene found a woman and her son with obvious signs of injury. According to police:

The suspect exited the residence, made threats to the police and brandished a machete before he was taken into custody without further injury to anyone.

The suspect, Robert C. Ewing (23 years of age from Egg Harbor Township), was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, terroristic threats and weapons offenses. Bail on these charges was set by Municipal Court Judge H. R. Switzer at $50,000.00 full and Ewing was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
