Challenge Atlantic City Triathlon takes place this Sunday, June 29th in and around Atlantic County,  Be prepared for some road closures and traffic!

Here are all the details for Atlantic City, according to Aclink.org...

"Challenge Atlantic City’s Inaugural event to be held from 6am –11pm on Sunday, June 29th, 2014 at Bader Field. The Atlantic City Police Department is working with Challenge Atlantic City’s race directors to provide traffic control as well as a safety plan for the event
from US Route 40 (Albany Ave) Beach Block Albany out to Exit 2 US route 40.  Please expect delays and closures on these roads.  If you are living along this route please use caution and have a plan to take an alternate route the morning of June 29th, 2014."
Here are the details for Egg Harbor Township, according to Aclink.org...
"On Sunday, June 29, 2014 the inaugural Challenge Atlantic City Triathlon will be affecting numerous communities throughout South Jersey. In Egg Harbor Township, the athletes will utilize Delilah Road, the
Airport Circle and Tilton Road during their 112 mile bike ride. Delilah Road will be affected from the border with Pleasantville to the Airport Circle and Tilton Road will be affected from the airport circle to Wrangleboro Road. The
athletes will be utilizing this route from approximately 7am-9am and then on their return trip from approximately 11am-4pm. The traffic patterns in this area will be affected and motorists should be aware of coned off bike lanes,
informational signs and police officer signals along the route. The athletes have the right of way during the triathlon.  Motorists should be prepared to stop at intersections as the athletes pass.  The detours that are in effect for the 7am-9am time period are as follows: Westbound Delilah Road will be
closed from Mill Road in Pleasantville to Westcott Road. From Westcott Road to the Airport Circle, Delilah Road will be open in both directions. Amelia Earhart Blvd. will be closed at the airport circle but the Atlantic City International Airport will remain open throughout the day. Access to the airport will consist of utilizing Nextgen Blvd., which is the
traffic light between Westcott Road and the Airport Circle. Officers will be at the light to assist motorists getting to the airport. Northbound Tilton road, from The Airport Circle to Wrangleboro Road, will be closed.
On the return trip, the 11am-4pm time period, the following detours are in effect: Southbound Tilton Road, from Wrangleboro Road to the Airport Circle. At the Airport Circle motorists will be directed around the circle and stopped to allow bikes to come through the center of the circle. Amelia Earhart Blvd. will be open for access to the airport.  Eastbound Delilah Road, from Westcott Road to Mill Road in Pleasantville, will be closed.
If you need to travel to through this area during the day on June 29th please give yourself extra time to get to your destination."
