Giants Defensive End Jason Pierre-Paul’s Finger Amputated

Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul voluntarily had his right index finger fully amputated Wednesday following a fireworks related injury.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Giants were unaware of the amputation.

Pierre-Paul is not under contract with the Giants, though he was designated as their franchise player this offseason and not not signed the on-year deal.  The Giants can still rescind the offer and still have him return, though minus an index, for $14.8 million this season.
