Harry Potter Night Coming to Ocean County College Planetarium
Attention Potterheads!! The Robert J. Novins Planetarium at Ocean County College has been adding more and more events for fandoms across the board. For two nights, Harry Potter fans can enjoy a Potter-themed event called the Novins Academy of Wizardry Presents: Astronomy of Harry Potter Reception and Show.
The event is split up into two separate age groups, adults/children 12+ and children and their families 8+. The magical event will take place on February 21st and 22nd. For the 12+ crowd aka N.E.W.T. Students and magical alumni, the event runs from 7pm-9pm on both Friday, February 21st and Saturday, February 22nd. For the 8+ crowd and their families aka first-year students, the event runs 3pm-5pm on Saturday, February 22nd.
The night begins before the planetarium show with delicious potions, a candy bar, games, and activities. According to the event page, “Practice spells, and preview the Astronomy behind your favorite characters, Magical Creatures, and Defense against the Dark arts with our esteemed faculty!”
While enjoying the show, a Harry Potter trivia contest will be going on where you’ll be able to earn points for your house. They have an app to download in order to participate in the contest.
Adult tickets cost $25.00, seniors 60+ cost $22.00, students and staff of OCC/Kean Ocean cost $22.00, and children 12 and under cost $20.00.
