No Cell Service? Here’s Why

Following last night's storms in South Jersey, many are waking up to no cell service this morning. (Or, not waking up at all - because they're not getting their wake up call.)

Verizon Wireless apparently is experiencing massive cell service problems in the region, as indicated on the outage map above.

A Verizon spokesman has confirmed that the problem is storm-related.

No word from Verizon on when the issue will be resolved.

UPDATE: 12 Noon: A representative told me "We are aware of the problem and are working on it. There is no estimated time of a resolution."  (Me: OK.... well, that make me feel better....)

UPDATE:2:00PM:   Verizon says all service is restored.
