Two stars of The Real Housewives of New Jersey were indicted Monday on federal fraud charges.

According to People,

"Teresa Giudice and her husband Joe were charged in a 39-count indictment with conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, bank fraud, making false statements on loan applications and bankruptcy fraud."

Tuesday afternoon, the Giudice's were released on a $500,000 bond after making an initial appearance in court in Newark, NJ to face federal fraud charges.

Also, according to People,

"The stars of The Real Housewives of New Jersey were ordered to surrender their passports and to confine their travels to New Jersey and New York. Joe Giudice could be deported to Italy if convicted because he is not a U.S. citizen."

I had no idea that Joe Giudice wasn't a U.S. citizen.  They are in a serious mess.

Bravo, the television network that airs the Real Housewives franchise, had no comment.

As the couple left the courtroom earlier this afternoon, Joe Giudice smacked the camera of a photographer.  According to NBC 4 New York,

"Teresa Giudice and her husband Giuseppe "Joe" Giudice walked into federal court Tuesday morning, surrounded by news cameras. Joe Giudice smacked a camera that was in front of him as he walked, prompting someone to say "whoa, whoa," as someone else said "easy!"
