Vandals Hit South Jersey Field of Dreams Playground

The first reaction is, "Why would somebody do this?"

Vandals have struck the South Jersey Field of Dreams playground, forcing it's closure until further notice.

The Field of Dreams is a baseball field and playground in Absecon that was built for those with challenges and disabilities throughout the area. Over the last several years, thousands have participated in baseball on the artificial turf surface baseball field - and hundreds of area adults and school sports participants have volunteered to help.

The playground was build near the field to further expand activities.

Now, the playground is off- limits, thanks to vandals. Representatives of the Field of Dreams organization say vandals covered the surface of playground equipment with a slippery substance, making the playground area unsafe.

Anyone with information on the incident is urged to contact Absecon Police.
