When it come to navigating traffic circles in New Jersey, even some of the natives have some hesitation.

On the morning I passed my driving test, my dad took me to what used to be the Airport Circle in Pennsauken and said, 'Drive.' I felt all the blood drain from my face. Now, mind you, this was 1993 before the Airport Circle was reconstructed to include traffic lights. At that time, it was one of the scariest and most dangerous traffic circles in the whole state. But, I held my breath, went slow, and followed my dad's instructions not to stop.

That's when I realized entering a traffic circle in a moving vehicle was a lot like trying to roll onto a skating rink. You had to yield to the oncoming cars and look for an opening. Total commitment, no breaking. And, if you missed your exit, just go around again, no panicking, because it's a CIRCLE. Remember, check all side view mirrors! They're your FRIENDS.
