AC Mayor Enters Guilty Plea to Fraud Charges
2019 just hasn't been his year, has it?
Mayor Frank Gilliam Jr. of Atlantic City has gotten himself into quite a bit of hot water over the last few months and now, this morning, he stood in front of a judge and submitted a plea of 'guilty' in response to multiple charges of fraud.
NJ.com reports that Gilliam used almost half of funds he'd solicited from the youth basketball program he started in 2011 for personal spending and purchases.
If you recall, Gilliam was charged with simple assault after he got into an altercation after a night out at the Golden Nugget last November. He was later cleared of those charges in March of this year.
