A report from the State of New Jersey says gamblers bet $931.6 million on sports just last month.

The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement released November's figures Monday afternoon. That report shows November's nearly $932 million crushed the record-high of $803 million set just last month.

That $931.6 million was divided between $59.5 million bet in-person at sports books with $872 million bet online.

With November's figures added-in, over $5 billion has been bet on sports in New Jersey since the beginning of the year.

And it is sports betting that is helping to prop-up the otherwise bruised casino industry in Atlantic City.

The Washington Post reports revenue from slot machines and table games inside the nine casinos was $146.5M in November, down about 35% from one year ago.

Internet gambling continued to be doing well for the brick and mortar gaming houses -- revenue was up about 87% from a year ago to about $92 million.

James Plousis, Chairman of the New Jersey Casino Control Commission, tells The Post, "The resurging public health crisis drove down business in Atlantic City during November. I applaud all of the properties for their continued diligence in adhering to the Governor’s mitigation directives for the safety of their employees and guests. As I regularly tour the properties, I’ve been pleased to see the continuing efforts that are being taken to maintain a clean and safe environment."
