Atlantic City Cops Say Mother Assaulted 6-year-old With Liquid Spice
Cops in Atlantic City say a mother has been charged for allegedly physically assaulting her 6-year-old daughter.
The Atlantic City Police Department says back on February 20th, one of their detectives received a referral from the State Division of Child Protection & Permanency (DCP&P) in reference to a 6-year-old girl who reported to her teacher that she had been assaulted by her mother, 41-year-old Aminata Toure of Atlantic City.
"The allegations included that the child had been physically assaulted which included being punched and having a liquid spice that is used in cooking poured on her genitals. The DCP&P case worker transported the child to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, for treatment."
An investigation was initiated with assistance from the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office. Charges against Toure were approved in March and she was located and arrested by an Egg Harbor Township police officer on April 21st.
Toure has been charged with sexual assault, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and simple assault. She was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
