Atlantic City Detectives Arrest Four, Gun and Drugs Recovered

Cops in Atlantic City say that within the span of about 25 minutes Tuesday afternoon, four people were arrested, a gun was recovered, and 700 bags of heroin and 24 grams of cocaine were taken off of the streets.

The first incident happened at 2:23 PM when detectives stopped a vehicle in the beach block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard. Police say during the stop, three people were arrested after each was found to be in possession of drugs. 29-year-old Stephon Hauser of Camden was found in possession of 18 grams of marijuana and 14 grams of cocaine. 28-year-old Raheem Miller of Chesapeake, MD, was found in possession of 500 bags of heroin. 31-year-old Tahshid Thompson of Camden was found in possession of 200 bags of heroin and 10 grams of cocaine.

Then, at 2:58 PM, other detectives attempted to stop 30-year-old Damonyea Mallory of Atlantic City in the first block of South Indiana Avenue. Police say as they approached, Mallory fled. As he was running, Mallory threw a loaded handgun over a fence. He was apprehended two blocks away; the gun was recovered and it had been reported stolen from South Carolina.

Hauser was charged with possession of CDS (two counts), possession with intent to distribute CDS, and possession with intent to distribute CDS within 500 feet of a public zone.

Miller was charged with possession of CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS, and possession with intent to distribute CDS within 500 feet of a public zone.

Thompson was charged with possession of CDS (two counts), possession with intent to distribute CDS (two counts), and possession with intent to distribute CDS within 500 feet of a public zone (two counts).

Those three were released on a summons with a future court date.

Mallory was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, certain person not to possess a weapon, possession of hollow-point ammunition, receiving stolen property, obstruction of justice, resisting arrest, and possession of narcotic paraphernalia. He was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
