Atlantic County Freeholder John Carman took to Facebook to state his views on the Women's March that happened across the globe on Saturday. He's claimed that the post (which has since been deleted) was a joke.

I'm not laughing.

According to the Press of Atlantic City, Carman posted a picture of a woman standing over a pot of soup with the caption, "Will the woman’s protest be over in time for them to cook dinner?”

Now, in my opinion, millions of women across the world marched on Saturday to protest against this very thought process.

Carman's response from the Press was,

“I fully support women’s rights and issues,” [Carman] said. “I thought it was funny. People need to lighten up.”

He also went as far as to post another meme on his Facebook page - according to the Atlantic County Democrats - after the initial backlash that states,

"There must be a large sandwich making class going on in DC today"

Carman is up for re-election this year. Please remember this when election time rolls around.

And if you would like to voice your displeasure - or pleasure, I suppose - of John Carman's views, you can attend the next freeholder meeting happening today, January 24 at 4 PM at the Stillwater Building, 201 Shore Road, Northfield, NJ 08225.
