Another chapter was added to the saga of trying to reopen the failed Revel casino Thursday afternoon.

Just days after Florida developer Glenn Straub officially bought Revel, the casino is now without water or electric service. The Associated Press reports ACR Energy, which supplies electric to the building, cut service at 2:13 Thursday afternoon. Water service to the building stopped just before that. Without basic utilities mold could become a problem, especially at its damp location right on the ocean and without water fighting a fire could be extremely difficult.

The relationship between ACR Energy and the Revel facility have been rocky since the casino closed. Threats of the building going dark first surfaced months ago as ACR Energy wanted outstanding debts addressed. While Straub now owns the building, he has not been able to reach an agreement with ACR to keep the lights on. Straub is now reportedly seeking portable generators to power the building until he connects to the power grid at neighboring Showboat, which he bought last week.
