A Gloucester County man and former Atlantic City dancer now owns the biggest Polynesian dance school in our area!

From performing in Atlantic City to owning his own dance school, Sikopu Savaiinaea never dreamed that when his uncle showed him the ins and outs of Polynesian dancing, he'd ever run the most popular Polynesian dance schools in the region.

According to Inquirer.com, that was the exact outcome. Now residing in Gloucester County, Savaiinaea was born in Samoa, but has been in the states for over 40 years. He moved to Hawaii as a teenager and learned the Polynesian dance technique from an uncle who used to perform at a popular Polynesian resort, Inquirer.com reports.

Now, he owns and runs the South Pacific Island Dancers. It's the largest dance school of its kind in our region. Savaiinaea runs luaus every year and says he loves seeing the interest in Pacific Island culture increase year after year.

Perhaps, we have the Disney movie "Moana" to thank for that?
