Not to sound super paranoid or anything, but all the illnesses and death stories popping up lately as a result of amoebas in the water are enough to have anyone on high alert when a new report pops up showing anything suspicious.

Well, today in Atlantic County, that fear has been realized. reported earlier today that a test sample came back positive from one of Longport's beaches showing a high rate of bacteria. The beach that served as the test subject is, apparently, still open but if it fails again, it will be closed to the public for an undisclosed amount of time.

Again, not trying to be crazy paranoid about the situation, but is it really a nutty thought to assume that if one beach had a positive result, then the surrounding beaches may soon follow?

It's better to be safe than sorry, so steering clear of that area sounds like the best option at the moment.

Full information regarding which beach was tested and the test's findings can be found HERE.
