Villas Man Charged With Possession of Sexual Abuse Images of Kids

Authorities say this investigation stemmed from two tips recieved by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that revealed an unidentified person, later identified as Crandley, had uploaded various images of child sexual abuse.

On October 13, as a result of the investigation, members of the Cape May County Regional SWAT Team stopped Crandley while he was driving and took him into custody in Lower Township.

Crime teams from Cape May and Atlantic County used court-ordered warrants to search Crandley's residence in Villas.

After finding the images in Crandley's home, he was charged with manufacturing and possessing child pornography, which are second- and third-degree crimes.

A person found guilty of a second-degree crime could face five to ten years in state prison, and a third-degree crime could bring a prison term of three to five years.

Thomas J. Crandley was taken to the Cape May County Correctional Center, pending court proceedings.
