I had the pleasure of attending a seminar for country radio stations at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital last week.
The hospital, founded by Danny Thomas in 1962, is a truly amazing place. Miracles happen every day. St. Jude treats children with from around the world with cancer and other catastrophic illnesses. Their families are never asked to pay. The hospital also does extensive research to find cures for  these diseases, then freely shares their findings and treatment protocols with everyone. We'll hold our 13th annual Cat Country Cares For St. Jude Kids Radiothon in late February.
I had the chance to meet and hear some wonderful people during my visit. Patients, families, doctors, nurses, researchers and more. It's very heartwarming to know that a place like St. Jude Children's Research Hospital exists!
Several country singers attended the conference and toured the hospital.
At a wrap-up songwriters' concert and dinner, Randy Owen of Alabama performed, and also presented John Rich with a special Randy Owen Angels Among Us Award. Rich was recognized for the awareness he brought to St Jude Children's Research Hospital during his appearance on Celebrity Apprentice. He also raised over $1.4 million for the hospital.
Here's a photo from the event:
