One of New Jersey’s proposed medical marijuana facilities may be opening in Egg Harbor Township by the end of the year.

It's been two years since the state passed a medical marijuana law, however finding suitable locations for such functions has not been easy.  Many townships have blocked proposals or have significantly drawn-out the approval process. The non-profit Compassionate Care Foundation is interested in opening an 85,000-square foot dispensary in the Offshore Commercial Park, not too far from Atlantic City International Airport. Unlike proposals in front of other towns, the remote location of this facility seems to be offering less resistance from area residents. Before the dispensary can open, the state needs to work through a round of approvals and then the crop needs to be grown, so it will be a few months before anything happens, one way or another.
