New Survey Reveals NJ Residents Eat Much Better Than Most
With the holidays right around the corner, if you find yourself nervous about the potential that exists to significantly expand your waistline throughout the following two months, don't worry. You're definitely not the only one with that fear.
While it's common for people to pack on a few pounds over the holiday season, New Jersey residents shouldn't stress out too much. If you know you have pretty healthy eating habits, then a few pounds gained due to indulging in some delicious seasonal treats won't break you. You'll get back on track soon enough.
A new study analyzed the eating habits within every state in USA and discovered that people from New Jersey really aren't too bad when it comes to our diets. Most would think we'd be one of the worst states, right? Pasta, pizza, sandwiches, etc.

As it turns out, New Jersey is one of the states with the lowest percent of people eating less than a serving a day of fruits and veggies. This means that most grown adults within the Garden State are getting (at least somewhat) adequate portions of produce per day. Overall, New jersey ranks in the bottom 16 in terms of obesity when it comes to the entire US. That's pretty good!
If we're in the bottom 16 on the obesity scale, that means we don't have as bad of a weight problem (in terms of unhealthy weight) here in NJ compared to the rest of the country. Furthermore, NJ ranked in the top 5 best states for food and fitness. This means that people in the Garden State care about being active.
So, there you have it, New Jersey! We're not as unhealthy as you thought.
