Pleasantville Apartments Lose Power, Residents Suffering

A residential motel on the Black Horse Pike in Pleasantville is without electricity, and dozens of residents are suffering, while the building's manager has apparently obtained a generator to power the ATM in the businesses lobby, and his own apartment unit.

Lisa Sodeno is with an organization called "Loving Families in Need Matter", and she's trying to spread the word as to what's happening in the building, and how it's effecting the 70 families that call the motel home.

She says that power went out early Saturday because of a traffic accident, and power is not scheduled to be restored until Wednesday, according to Atlantic City Electric.

Sodeno has tried getting help from social service agencies, but so far the Red Cross "they were here last night at midnight and said they bring truck with breakfast nothing came." Meanwhile, the Salvation Army says "this is legal issue."

Sodeno says she's been at the scene for the last 30 hours and she's literally begging for help.

Generators are a top priority right now. She says two generators have been brought in, "for 2 cancer patients, and we need more."

Sodano adds, "Our families need Food, candles, batteries, flashlights, generators and gas. Our kids who are virtual have no WiFi for tomorrow."

If you can help with generators, food or other items, Lisa Sodano says her agency actually rents an office at the hotel to help the families that live there and they can be brought directly there.
