Prosecutor: Philadelphia Man Indicted for 2020 Pleasantville, NJ Murder
A grand jury in Atlantic County has handed up an indictment against 40-year-old Teddy Smith of Philadelphia in connection to the fatal shooting of a man from Pleasantville in May 2020.
Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill says Smith was indicted Tuesday on first-degree murder, second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon charges.
Shill's office says on the evening of May 1, 2020, Pleasantville Police received a 911 call about a shooting in the area of 129 N. First Street. According to authorities, arriving officers found Nathan Adcock with multiple gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead after being taken to Atlanticare in Atlantic City.
Smith, who was identified as a suspect, was arrested at a parole office in Philadelphia on November 6th.
Shill says this was a cooperative investigation between his office, the Pleasantville Police Department, Philadelphia Parole, and Philadelphia Police Fugitive Homicide Unit.
The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
