You may have noticed a lot of people on Facebook sharing a cut-and-paste post about making a change that allows them to see more people's posts.

Well, it's pretty much worthless.

That is, it doesn't work, and it doesn't do anything.

The posts usually include these lines:

Facebook's new algorithm picks the same people - around 25-who will see your posts. Hold your finger anywhere in this post and Facebook's new algorithm picks the same people - around 25-who will see your posts. Hold your finger anywhere in this post and click " copy ".

Snopes, the online fact-checking website says it's false. They also checked with the people at Facebook. False.

We contacted Facebook to ask whether the claim of limiting personal interactions had merit, and a representative told us that the rumor held no water (which is in keeping with our own observations). As with other viral posts aiming to “trick” Facebook’s algorithm, this rumor is both misguided and ineffective.

So Facebook friends, beware. The "trick" or "fix" is nothing. Worthless.

If I may be so bold: Any post that asks you to "copy and paste" probably is kind of worthless.

But... you know.... feel free to copy and paste this. :)
