The Best Food to Try at Local Professional Baseball Parks
Baseball parks across the country have really stepped up their food game in the last several years! Here are some great foods to try next time you hit up a ball game!
I'll start with Citizens Bank Park, because I'm a Phillies fan...
Citizens Bank Park - Home of the Philadelphia Phillies - A cheesesteak is a given. Go to Tony Luke's or Campo's, either will be delicious. But new for this season is a sandwich that's high on my radar - Harry the K's new Korean Fried Pork Belly Sandwich.... Here's what Philly.Eater.com said about it...
Designed by Andrew Zimmern, yes the Andrew Zimmern of Bizarre Foods, Aramark's new sandwich will consist of a batter-fried pork belly, grilled pineapple, gochujang sauce and chili lime salt, all carefully layered between a toasted bun. Also new to the menu, cheddar-topped Turkey burger and smoked brisket sandwich.
There are also a few new hot dogs to try...
Yankee Stadium - Home of the New York Yankees - Living in Jersey - south or north - there are a lot of fans for all of the New York professional sports. Yankees stadium is trying to best Citi Field, but they pale in comparison when it comes to food. However, grab some BBQ from Brother Jimmy's. You will not be disappointed.
Citi Field - Home of the New York Mets - My top choice would probably be Shake Shack... You know my love for a great Pat LaFrieda burger... However, I'm intrigued to try David Chang's (follow him on Instagram if you love food photos) Fuku chicken sandwich.
Oh my yum.
Turner Field - Home of the Atlanta Braves - So obviously this is not a local ball park, but it's where I grew up going, so I'm adding it to my list.
H&F Burger - the location outside of the stadium is renowned for fantastic burgers, but they only serve 24 burgers a day - starting at 10pm. Once they're gone, they're gone. It's easier to grab one in the ball park.
If not, get hashbrowns from Waffle House - scattered, covered and chunked is my preference.
