Three people are facing weapons charges, one of which is still wanted by police, in Bridgeton following a traffic stop Wednesday afternoon where an assault weapon was found by cops.

Bridgeton Police arrested 21-year-old Lincoln J. Bennett of Bridgeton and a 17-year-old male; they continue to search for 20-year-old Quaheem Williams of Millville.

Authorities say a Bridgeton police officer conducted a traffic stop on North Pearl Street around 2:30 Wednesday afternoon. According to a press release, "During the initial conversation with the driver and passengers, they were ordered from he vehicle. While standing on the sidewalk, the front seat passenger, Mr. Williams fled on foot. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers recovered a loaded 9mm Intratec AB-10 assault firearm."

Bennett and the 17-year-old were arrested at the scene and charged with possession of a weapon (firearm), unlawful possession of a weapon (firearm), possession of a high capacity magazine, and possession of hollow point bullets.

Bennett was remanded to the Cumberland County Jail while the 17-year-old was remanded to the Atlantic County Detention Center.

There is currently an active warrant for Quaheem Williams. Cops say he should be considered armed and dangerous. Any information as to his whereabouts can be provided to the Bridgeton Police Department at (856) 451-0033.
